People who eat more ultraprocessed foods may face higher risk for depression, according to a new study in the journal JAMA Open Network. According to NBC News, researchers examined data about eating and mental health status for more than 31,000 women between the ages of 62 and 42, and found that those who ate nine servings of ultraprocessed foods per day were 50 percent more likely to develop depression than women who ate no more than four servings each day.
