A new report from the World Health Organization states that high blood pressure affects one in three adults worldwide and is a leading risk factor for death or disability, according to CNN. The report finds that high-performing countries with national blood pressure control programs are able to help as much as 50 percent of adults with hypertension control their condition. The report goes on to state that expanding those programs could save an additional 76 million lives between 2023 and 2050.
