So, you had a recipe that called for half a teaspoon of chopped garlic and you bought a bag. Now you still have nearly a full bag of garlic. What to do?
One easy solution: Garlic bread. Mix a few spoonfuls of chopped garlic with softened butter and olive oil. Spread on bread. Broil or bake.
A simple dinner: Garlic and Olive Oil Pasta. Simple saute a generous amount of garlic in olive oil then toss into spaghetti. Add red pepper flakes.
Add to everything: Garlic butter shrimp, scallops, steak, green beans, mashed potatoes or corn on the cob.
Obviously use garlic and butter in stir-fried veggies like peppers, carrots, cabbage, celery, onion, cauliflower, fried rice and noodle stir-fries.
Remember that pre-chopped garlic will cook faster than fresh, so it will burn easier. Use 1 1/2 to 1 teaspoons of pre-chopped garlic to equal one medium clove. Pre-chopped garlic can be slightly milder than fresh.
