A study released in April found that about 60 percent of CBD products marketed as sleep aids contained levels of active ingredients that differed from what was indicated on the labels, according to Forbes. The online CBD resource Leafreport purchased 52 CBD sleep products, including gummies, tinctures and capsules, and sent them to an accredited third-party lab for testing. Levels of cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN) and melatonin differed from the labels by as much as 10 percent. In a statement, the study coordinator argued that more transparency is needed in the growing CBD industry.
