If you're a makeup wearer who does a lot of video calls, you might have noticed something: Makeup doesn't look the same onscreen as it does in-person. Your regular makeup routine might look great to anyone standing in front of you, but when it comes to makeup through a webcam, the rules are just different.
With just a few quick, simple adjustments, you can adapt your makeup routine to work for you onscreen as well as it does in real life — no lengthy extra steps or thick product application required.
* Go for glowing skin. Try a foundation or tinted moisturizer with a more luminous finish and some soft highlighter on the cheekbones.
* Invest in a good concealer that you can use around your eyes and in other areas you want to brighten or even out.
* Use a brighter blush. Cameras can wash out the skin and subtle colors may not appear. Sweep a bright, warm shade across the apples of your cheeks, your temples, even your eyelids.
* Keep your eye area bright. Use natural shadow and liner with lots of mascara. Defined lashes help your eyes stand out and make you look more awake.
* Skip matte-finish lipstick and try a satiny or glossy color on your lips instead.
