No lanyard needed now on Royal Caribbean cruises.
Cruisers will now have the option to buy a WOW band on Royal Caribbean cruises. The watch-like, reusable, waterproof band functions like a room key, allowing guests to unlock staterooms, make purchases, and enter lounges with a tap.
The WOW band costs about $15, although the lanyard with SeaPass card is a free option.
According to reviewers for Reader's Digest, the band doesn't completely replace the SeaPass card. In port you still need your SeaPass to disembark and reboard.
