Two new research analyses have concluded that medical or recreational marijuana does not alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. According to CNN, cannabis medications in capsule, spray, and oil formulations showed little to no effect against mental health symptoms, and the effect of smoking cannabis was even more limited. Major behavioral and mental health organizations recommend proven treatment methods, such as antidepressant medications and talk therapy.
