Brain training may help fight dementia

Researchers at the University of Montreal believe that a study conducted on seniors shows that memory training helped stabilize their mild cognitive impairment.

The paper, published in an Alzheimer's and dementia journal in September, showed that even after five years, seniors who had received memory and attention training had not declined further. However, a group that was not treated declined further.

The memory and attention training involved no drugs at all and was a short-term program of memorizing lists, performing tasks, and focusing attention.
