CDC: Beware of counterfeit Botox
At least a dozen people have been hospitalized and others have experienced adverse side effects after receiving injections of counterfeit Botox, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Investigations in New York and Tennessee revealed that untrained and unlicensed injectors delivered the fake anti-wrinkle shots in private residences. The CDC warns consumers that Botox injections should always be administered by licensed and trained health care providers in clinical settings.
