Nothing is more isolated in our solar system than 2018 AG37, otherwise known as Farfarout, a super dwarf planet that is only 250 miles across.
Farfarout takes about 700 years to orbit the sun, hanging out as it does in an elliptical orbit near Neptune. While the Earth is 93 million miles from the sun, Farfarout is an average of 132 times that distance.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, the most isolated town in the contiguous United States is Glasgow, Montana, which The Washington Post claims is the literal middle of nowhere. Glasgow is an estimated 4.5 hours by car away from the nearest urban center. Founded in 1887 as a railroad town, Glasgow has a population of about 3,000.
However, the most northern town in the U.S. is Utgiagvik, Alaska, accessible only by plane. It is 500 miles away from Fairbanks.
Point Nemo is the spot in the ocean farthest away from land. It is located 1,700 miles away from three islands, which makes the astronauts on the International Space Station the humans closest to Point Nemo.
