Claims made for online brain exercises have mostly been debunked, but a new 10-year study found that speed training, might ward off dementia.
Speed training attempts to help people make quicker decisions in their field of view and expand their field of view. This skill is used in driving, for example.
The study, presented by the University of South Florida, claims that only 10 hours of training resulted in a 33 percent lower risk of developing dementia.
Posit Science now offers the speed training program, called Double Decision, on its fee-based BrainHQ online program.
The study findings have not yet been published or peer-reviewed.
