An anonymous 16-year-old created a game that now has the highest user numbers in video game history.
Released on the kid favorite Roblox platform, it's a simple game, with a common theme, and players don't have to do much with it. Even its name is simple: Grow a Garden. Players plant a seed and wait until it grows. Then they harvest the plants to get in-game currency, buy exotic plants or pets.
The game was posted in March 2025 and by June 2025 it became a top-earner in revenue with a record 21.3 million users gardening at the same time.
The young game developer who goes by the username BMWLux owns 50 percent of the game, according to some reports, but game developers and investors own the rest.
The game has driven 72 percent stock increases at Roblox, according to Sherwood News.
Roblox, with its block graphics and millions of dedicated players under age 13, has encouraged its users to develop unique games. In the first quarter of 2025, Roblox paid these creators more than $281 million.
