Marijuana impairs driving ability

With states legalizing marijuana for medical and recreational use, many people think that the drug is safe for driving. Nothing can be further from the truth.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, marijuana is the most frequently reported drug found in post-crash testing, behind alcohol.

The delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) found in marijuana is, according to the CDC, "a psychoactive (mind-altering) compound that affects areas of the brain that control the body's movements, balance, coordination, memory and judgment." THC can slow reaction times and reduce decision-making abilities.

Do not use marijuana and drive.
