Left-handedness might be at least partly genetic

Left-handedness might be in your genes, according to a new study in the journal Nature Communications. About 10 percent of the human population is left-handed, and those southpaws are 2.7 times more likely to have a rare variant of the gene TUBB4B. Study researchers reviewed the genetic composition of 350,000 people to draw their conclusions.

Genetic variations can give science clues as to how the brain in general develops, according to Smithsonian Magazine.
