Amazon acquires primary care service

Amazon is officially a healthcare provider after its $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical, which provides on-demand virtual primary care for a flat annual fee, according to The Verge. For $199 a year, currently discounted to $144, members can access telehealth services at any time, with guaranteed same-day or next-day appointments.

Not everyone supports the acquisition, however — the FTC is currently investigating the deal as it considers filing an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon.
