Ten models that have earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating have eliminated marginal headlight packages. These are: Audi A7, Honda Accord, Hyundai Palisade, Mazda CX-30, Nissan Altima, Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander, Volvo S60, Volvo XC40 and Volvo XC60.
The Honda Odyssey (not evaluated for the top safety award in 2020) also earned the highest rating since it eliminated two inferior headlight choices.
These vehicles also passed the Institute's six crash tests to earn advanced or superior ratings.
