Mystery: Read the story that comes with the puzzle, piece together the puzzle (it usually doesn't come with a full picture), then figure out the killer.
Wasgij: Jigsaw backwards. The box only gives a clue to the whole picture.
Hidden image: A tiny image is hidden in the puzzle. For example, a puzzle of ice cream cones that has a hidden lollipop.
