The United States surgeon general, Dr. Vivek Murthy, has issued a public warning about the risks of social media to children and adolescents. According to the New York Times, Murthy's 19-page advisory included recommendations to limit social media use, along with a call for tech companies to enforce minimum age limits and improve safety and privacy standards.
