Sept. 15 - Oct. 15, National Hispanic Heritage Month

Taking pride in our ancestry

The Irish have March with St. Patrick's Day and the Germans and Polish have October with Oktoberfest and General Pulaski parades and festivities.

The 30-day period of September 15 to October 15 is for Hispanic Americans, who share the second half with the Polish and Germans.

More than ever before, we are celebrating our unity as Americans alongside our unique individual heritage. It's what makes our country a melting pot and a better place. While we all belong here and belong to the American story, we have our own different and equally rich cultural traditions to guide us.

Hispanic Americans, this is your time! Mark it with festivals and traditional attire at work and at play. Tell stories of the old days and celebrate the new!
