FDA to finalize ban on menthol cigarettes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will finalize new rules to ban the sale of menthol cigarettes and other menthol tobacco products later this year, according to CNN. The agency announced that it would ban menthol — the only remaining legal tobacco flavor — in 2022, after more than a decade of consideration. Experts say that flavored cigarettes are even more addictive than unflavored varieties.
