Cryptocurrency miner doubles as a space heater

A company named Qarnot is taking advantage of the fact that mining cryptocurrency is often a heated and electricity-intensive process by producing a miner that also warms your home, according to Engadget. The 'crypto heater' is attractively styled as a wall-mounted radiator but uses its PC innards, including two high-powered graphics cards, to mine Ethereum noiselessly while the system is running.

The heat generated by the hardware dissipates into the surrounding room and even has a 'heating booster mode' to add extra warmth. At $3,570, the unit is expensive and a bit of a novelty, but it will also mine around $120 per month at recent Ethereum prices to help offset the costs.
