The cat in the storm drain
In Duluth, MN, one family had given up hope of finding their lost tabby, Drifter. He had been gone for nearly eight weeks when Clifton Nesseth and Ashley Comstock planned a memorial service for the critter. But just as they gathered, neighborhood kids came over and said they heard a cat meowing from a storm drain.
Nesseth lifted up the drain cover and dug through some dirt and fabric. And just then, Drifter poked his paw out of the hole, followed by his head. He was still wearing his collar, although it was plenty loose since he had lost about 8 pounds off his previously 15-pound frame. He was fine and ready for dinner.
