A group of authors will receive $1.5 billion from the artificial intelligence company Anthropic to settle a class action lawsuit. According to Reuters, a federal judge in California granted preliminary approval to the landmark settlement in September. The judge ruled that Anthropic violated the authors' rights when it saved more than 7 million pirated books.
