Luca, a Massachusetts Shiloh shepherd dog, did a little remodeling one day when his owner Lori was running errands — and the consequences were bad for both.
Seems Luca really wanted to get into the trash, which was hidden in a kitchen cabinet. While Lori was gone, Luca tore out the cabinet, flung it into the living room, and completely dismantled it in order to access the tasty trash inside.
He managed to eat some corn cobs, which led to an intestinal obstruction and a trip to the vet.
The Hambone Award is presented annually by Nationwide Insurance in honor of the strangest pet insurance claim of the year.
