That may be a difficult concept for Children to understand, but here is a fun little experiment that can demonstrate the idea of atonement in action from WeTalkofChrist.com.
Spend a little time discussing how the sacrifice of Jesus.
Get a bunch of pure white carnations from the store and some red food dye. Have the kids cut the stems of the carnations very short so that the flower heads stick out about an inch above the rim of a regular 8-ounce glass. Now have the kids put food coloring in the water. Then put the white carnations in the glass. The kids will wake up in the next morning to see the carnations have taken the red food coloring into their blooms.
