It's easy and fast to microwave soup, except the bowl can get very hot and that makes it difficult to carry. One idea: Microwave soup in a 4-cup measuring cup. The handle will get warm, but not hot. The soup will be easy to carry to the table.
If you need to use two hands to carry, try putting a doubled-up paper towel under the measuring cup in the microwave. When it is time to remove the soup, simply fold the towel up on either side of the bowl to protect your hands.
The measuring cup also makes it easy to pour into your favorite soup bowl. Or not. Just use the measuring cup for your lunch!
