Study: French fries linked to depression

People who frequently consume fried foods, especially fried potatoes, are more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety than those who don't consume fried foods, according to CNN. The Chinese research team, which evaluated 140,728 people over 11.3 years, hypothesized that acrylamide, a chemical byproduct of the frying process, may aggravate symptoms. Other experts suggest that anxious or depressed people are more likely to reach for fried comfort foods.
