They love their jobs, but many people get a sinking feeling on Sunday.
Friday has that sense of freedom. Saturday is all yours. Then, Sunday, you start to worry.
Psychiatrists at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, say Sunday night anxiety is a real phenomenon.
They theorize that people repress their anxieties and problems for almost 48 hours. Come Sunday night, that bill comes due and anxiety comes rushing back.
If you are having typical Sunday night anxiety, here are ways to cope:
* Late Friday afternoon, make your work plan for Monday. When Sunday comes, remember that you've already got your Monday figured out.
* Keep your regular sleep schedule over the weekend. One reason anxiety keeps people awake on Sunday night is because they slept in on Sunday morning.
* Take care of housework early on Saturday, then relax. You'll still have the rest of the day and all of Sunday to be free.
