Sentences end with dots, but should you end your texts that way?
According to researchers at Binghamton University, short exchanges in texts that ended with a dot were perceived to be insincere.
In their experiment, researchers show participants short text invitations followed by a one-word response, such as Yup, Sure or Okay. Some responses ended with a period, some didn't.
They found that in text messages, the responses that ended with a dot were rated as less sincere than those with no punctuation. But an exclamation mark can make your message seem more sincere.
