After several months of testing, Netflix confirmed that it will roll out vertical video for mobile devices in 2026. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the streaming giant plans to use the vertical format to market new content categories, such as video podcasts, in addition to video clips from traditional streaming offerings. Netflix hopes that the move will allow it to compete with other short video platforms like Instagram.
