I need dentures. Does Medicare pay for dental work and dentures?
Original Medicare Part A and Part B do not cover dental work or dentures.
However, some Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans may have a dental benefit. These plans are sold by private insurance companies and they are not all the same.
Some plans offer low-cost or free preventative care, but the amount you can spend is limited. Limits on dental work usually range from $1,000 to $2,000.
Some plans have a separate premium for dental coverage and are the most common supplemental benefit. These supplemental plans can cover at least part of extensive dental services.
You can enroll in an Advantage plan until December 7.
