Makeup for guys? Well, it’s here

Every human wakes up sometimes with bags, uneven skin tone, or dark circles.

Women are used to slapping on the makeup. Men just endure. But, now will men fix the problem with a little makeup (or war paint as one company persuasively calls it)?

The jury is still out on that. About one third of US men under 45 said they would consider trying makeup, according to a survey by Morning Consult in September 2019. CVS recently rolled out men's cosmetics in 2,000 stores. Mostly we are talking a foundation or a concealer as a cover for flaws.

But in the Zoom work culture, a little makeup couldn't hurt to make you look good on camera.

Foundations can blur pores, cover flaws and even out skin tone.

Other items can help with that too, though.

* Add a face scrub to your regimen twice a week. It will slough off oil, dirt, and dead skin cells. Use it in the shower, and you'll find you get a closer shave afterward.

* Hydrate with a moisturizer. Everyone needs hydration, they say, even a man with oily skin. Apply it after shaving and it will feel good.

* Use an eye cream. A great eye cream hydrates the skin around the eyes, reducing puffiness and minimizing the signs of wrinkles, which is a step toward preventing them. Use men's cream, not women's.

* Pay attention to the condition of your hands and fingernails. Have an occasional manicure and otherwise maintain fingernails.

* Invest in a good shampoo, conditioner and hair styling product.
