Memorial Day weekend at the end of May is a great time for furniture sales.
Look for discounts on housewares and dining and living room furniture at big retailers like Walmart and Home Depot. May is also a great month for activewear discounts.
Here are some other months that are good for sales:
January: Look for sales on linens, sheets and bedding, along with winter clothing discounts. Bedding also tends to go on sale again in July.
Late December to April: Electronics often go on sale after the holidays end. TVs tend to go on sale before the Super Bowl in January and February. Computers, phones, and accessories may be on sale from January to April.
September to October: Summer clothing goes on sale.
September to December: Larger home appliances go on sale the week before Labor Day. By November, you'll find Black Friday sales on high-ticket items like dishwashers and refrigerators.
August to October: Keep a sharp eye out for steeply discounted outdoor furniture and garden supplies.
