Lawn crew never complains about BAAAd hours

Fields of solar panels can span thousands of acres with low-positioned, delicate equipment.

Prairie grasses can grow and block the panels. When the solar industry noticed, they had to find a solution.

Power mowers couldn't maneuver around the panels, so they looked to grass-eating animals. Cows were too big. Goats eat everything, including wires. But sheep? They are docile, hungry, thorough, short enough to do the job — and they don't eat wires.

Flocks of sheep now eat down prairie grass all over the nation, providing new income for sheep owners. It is also job security for the Turkish akbash sheepherding dogs who protect the mowers from predators.
