Families in snowy locales can take advantage of the white stuff for a fun and easy dessert that kids love to make and eat.
All you need is clean, new-fallen snow and a couple of pantry staples. The final product is thick and rich and icy, and you'll have enough to feed a crowd of happy kids.
1. During or immediately after a snowfall, collect 8 to 10 cups of fresh, clean snow.
2. Put about half the snow in a smaller bowl and sprinkle with about a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
3. Drizzle about half a can (14 ounces) of sweetened condensed milk over the vanilla-flavored snow and mix with a wooden spoon.
4. When the snow, vanilla, and condensed milk are combined, add the mixture back to the larger bowl with the rest of the snow.
5. Add the rest (or less) of the can of sweetened condensed milk, if desired.
6. Mix again and serve immediately with your preferred toppings.
7. Freeze leftovers in a sealed container.
