If you monitor your blood pressure, here is how to get an accurate reading.
1. Take it before you drink your coffee in the morning. Coffee can increase blood pressure.
2. Don't smoke or exercise for 30 minutes before you take the reading.
3. Sit in a comfortable chair for a few minutes beforehand where you can rest your arm at heart level during the test.
4. Put both feet flat on the floor. Breathe evenly. Don't talk or move during the test.
