Vinyl plank flooring is hardy with an attractive wood-like finish, but there are some thing you should and should not do.
Never use:
* Steel wool or any abrasive scrubbers.
* Steam cleaners. These emit too much heat and will probably void the floor's warranty.
* Wax or polishes, which may leave a film and dull the finish.
* Ammonia.
Cleaning vinyl flooring is easy. Start by sweeping or vacuuming to pick up loose dirt. Then simply mop with hot water, rinsing the mop frequently. Add a a little white vinegar to disinfect, if you wish. A few drops of baby oil may restore shine for dull floors.
For stains such as lipstick, hair dye, or ink, use rubbing alcohol. For crayon, paint and marker, use mineral spirits, an odorless solvent. A baking soda paste will remove food stains.
