Amazon Echo Show 5, 8 and 10 smart displays can be used like a security camera.
The settings are accessed not from the app, but from the device itself from its settings menu. After you chose Home Monitoring, you'll have to verify your account and enter your password.
You can also choose Audio Alert, which will play a sound on the device so people in the room will know the device is on. If you choose Video Delay, the display blurs for a few seconds, giving people in the room time to to sort themselves out.
Once you start home monitoring, you'll be able to use the Echo to pan left and right.
Unlike to Alexa Drop-In app, home monitoring doesn't show a picture of the monitoring user.
