Health insurance prices to jump

The cost of employer-sponsored health plans are expected increase more than 6 percent in 2024, the largest price increase for employer health plans in about 10 years.

According to data from consulting firms Mercer and Willis Towers Watson, costs could jump 6.6 percent in 2024. During the last decade, costs of these employer-sponsored plans rose about 3 to 4 percent annually.

Employer-sponsored health insurance plans are exceptionally expensive, averaging $14,600 per employee, according to The Wall Street Journal. Most employers typically offset some part of the cost of health insurance through employee contributions.
