Gamers who have spent thousands of hours playing their favorite, classic titles are using their skills for charity.
The events, called speedrunning, let gamers from all over the world watch as the experts dash through their favorite games, exploiting game glitches and using tricks to complete the games in record time.
In July, speedrunners raised $2.1 million to donate to Doctors Without Borders, according to Engadget. This donation topped the previous year's total of $1.7 million.
During this event, viewers make donations so they can ask questions or make special requests.
