New images from the Hubble space telescope have revealed a white dwarf star that appears to have swallowed an icy Pluto-like planet. According to Reuters, the compact white dwarf star is located about 255 light years away and is a remnant of a star that was once larger than our sun. Scientists say that detecting and observing distant icy bodies may help humans learn how water arrived on Earth and locate other planets that could potentially support life.
