Appealing to last minute gift shoppers

Some retailers found gift wrapping during the Christmas season paid off.

One boutique brewery scored big with a popup shop at a local mall. They sold pre-wrapped, see-through gift packages, complete with a free-drink card for their pubs.

"Know someone who drinks beer?" the staff asked interested parties. Most did know someone.

The easy, stylish gift packages were ready to carry out and put under the tree — a unique, no-fuss gift for that person who drinks beer.

Most retailers at one time offered in-store wrapping, although the process often required long waits.

Bed Bath & Beyond has offered DIY gift wrapping stations. Other retailers offer either paid wrapping or complimentary gift boxes.

Pre-wrapped, pre-selected gifts of bath and shower gifts were big in 2017.
