The American Stroke Association has updated its Guideline for the Primary Prevention of Stroke, adding new recommendations for clinicians and patients. According to CNN, the new guidelines encourage healthy behaviors, weight management (including with the assistance of GLP-1 receptor agonists such as Ozempic), and recommends the Mediterranean diet for optimal heart health. Stroke is a leading cause of death and long-term disability for Americans.
